Stylist Camille Bidault-Waddington has been saving quick iPhone snaps for years from her life on set — unfiltered pictures that became a time capsule. Now gathered into a book, they read like the real backstage — moments that never made the story but shape it.
In her own words:
“Through the years I realized I was taking snaps on shoots. Polaroids disappeared, and it was a way to take notes, to remember fun moments, movements, looks, stuff to pest about at the edit sometimes. I started making a file, and a friend, Michael Amzalag from M/M Paris, told me it could be cool to do something with it… Sacha Léopold and François Havegeer from Syndicat were interested in making a book with their publishing company, Empire Books…
The photographs are not thought of; they were very spontaneous, and I really should thank all photographers (except two straight dudes, lol) who were all enthusiastic about the book, cause it is pretty raw. I love the book, cause it is a landscape of photography in fashion at a certain time, printed on a beautiful object, with a text by Victoire Le Bars, whose brain is one of my favorites.”
