Balenciaga says wear your heels in your hands with a black patent leather zip up clutch. At Schiaparelli, it’s painted gold nails on anatomical toe shoes with a demure ankle strap. Sheer red knee socks are pulled up over pointed Givenchy stilettos. Speaking of red tights: at Acne with a sweetheart shoe, at Proenza Schouler with a white thong sandal. And what’s hotter than a glossy Ferragamo boot?
Fetish fashion is nothing new – think Helmut Newton and Thierry Mugler a la '80s, Vivienne Westwood paw pumps, and even the original minimalist Helmut Lang in the '90s. And this season’s statement toes the line demurely between fetishwear and luxury.
